From Rock Bottom to Happiness – An Interview with Love Hair

Have you ever had one of those moments when you realize the world is actually a lot smaller (but at the same time-sooooo much more expansive) than you ever thought? Like a moment when you realize- wow, life is pretty freaking magical and incredible?!

I had one of those moments this past week when I opened my email inbox to see an email from my favorite nontoxic, cruelty-free, sustainable haircare company- Love Hair.

I had posted about their products previously on IG and how grateful I was to find an awesome haircare brand when making the switch to non-toxic products in 2020.

And to my surprise- a kind soul from their team (hi Jamie!) reached out to ask if I’d be interested in being interviewed for an article on their blog.

This email gave me full-body chills. Why? Because I’ve looked up to the two people who founded this company (Mimi and Alex Ikonn) for years. In fact, they were one of the biggest inspirations to me when I was still working in the pharmaceutical industry but knew I wanted to forge a different entrepreneurial path in my life (and also start traveling the world). I would stay up late- like until 1 in the morning, fully knowing I had to get up for work the next day- watching their travel vlogs on YouTube and dreaming of one day building a life that allowed me to create for a living and travel while doing it.

So, when I got this email, from a company whose founders I was incredibly inspired by, I was totally struck by the serendipity of it. There was just something about that moment that made me realize I truly am the only one limiting what is possible in life- because the world is a lot smaller (and more magical) than we think and the opportunities are endless.

A few days later, I did the interview and showed up as real and raw as I could. I shed light on the truly dark place I was in before going plant-based. I also opened up about just how much living a holistic plant-based lifestyle has had such a massive impact on my mind, body, and soul.

I am so grateful to Love Hair for the opportunity to spread the word about the power of this lifestyle. (And also for making incredible non-toxic, cruelty-free haircare!)

And…… I also gave an in-depth recap of my current hair routine in the post. Somehow I’ve gone from feeling like I need to wash my hair every single day to doing only every 2nd or 3rd day and Love Hair has been a big part of that. My scalp has never felt happier.
