Best Clean Beauty at Sephora (& how to shop the Sale)

Lifestyle

It’s here! The Sephora Sale is finally happening! So today we’re talking about the best clean beauty at Sephora (and skincare).

For the last 3 years since overhauling my skincare and makeup routines and moving to clean, nontoxic options, I’ve been shopping a lot more at cleaner retailers like Credo Beauty and The Detox Market.

BUT- I still have a soft spot in my heart for Sephora (I used to love going there after work when I was living in Philly, walking around and hunting for eyeshadow palettes to try). So when their annual Sephora Savings Event rolls around, I use it as a chance to stock up on some of my favorite clean beauty and skincare must-haves. I also use it as a time to try products I’ve never tried before.

Even though I did a YouTube video breaking down all of the best clean beauty at Sephora last year, I’ve added to the list since then and wanted to share all of my faves with you so you can get ready for the sale! It starts tomorrow (check below to see when you can shop).

It’s the perfect opportunity for your to stock up on clean beauty and skincare, whether you’re currently in the process of switching to clean products, just want to try some out, or are completely new to all things clean and non-toxic.

So, before we get to the list-

Why shop for Clean Beauty and Skincare?

When I say clean, I’m talking about products that are safe and made with non-toxic ingredients. I’m also talking about products that are vegan. As I mentioned in this YouTube video, Sephora does have a clean label they will place on product listings online. BUT- I don’t really use or trust that clean label, because they do allow some ingredients which don’t really seem that clean and optimal for us to be using on our bodies. (I go into more detail on this topic in the YouTube video.)

So because of that, I’ve spent a bunch of time researching ingredients and brands when shopping at Sephora, which is not ideal. But, at least I can share my faves here with you, to hopefully save you some time. 🙂

Alright, let’s get to these clean beauty and skincare picks!

Clean, Vegan Skincare Faves at Sephora:

-What I Use Most Often-

Liquid Exfoliator

I’ve been using this to exfoliate 1-2x a week (I change it out with my favorite Osea mask) and love it. I put a little on a cotton ball and dab it all over my face and follow it up with serum.

Vitamin C Glowy Drops

These drops makes the face so glowy! I use them in the mornings after cleansing. They add a beautiful glow under makeup.

Night Magic Oil

This is one of my FAVE clean oils to gua sha with. It’s thick, so it’s perfect for facial massage! I use it after cleansing and applying serum. Once I apply the oil, I use a gua sha stone to do a facial massage for 10 minutes while I watch something (like Vanderpump) or read in bed (currently rereading this game-changing book).

Body Oil

Perfect to revive that post-winter skin.

Milky Soft Cleanser

This cleanser is a great option for removing makeup at the end of the day. It’s also easy to travel with in a checked bag and doesn’t spill easily.

Vegan Collagen Probiotic Spray-On Serum

I’m a sucker for a good hydrating mist. And also I’m really growing to love Kosas (their eyebrow gel is my fave). So- this is combining two favorites. 🙂

Bright Repair Eye Cream

This is for those nights when you want to do the full skincare routine. It’s luxurious, hydrating and I love mixing it into my routine when I want to switch up my Osea eye cream (another one of my moisturizing true loves).

The Afterglow Moisturizer

Another brand I’ve been really enjoying is Prima. Their products are infused with CBD and this moisturizer features their Ayurvedic Adaptogen Complex to nourish the skin.

Moon Juice Plump Jelly

I love this serum! It adds a major glow to the skin. I like to have a couple of serums in rotation and this is definitely one of them.

Clean, Vegan Beauty Faves at Sephora:

-Best Clean Beauty at Sephora Makeup I’m Always Reaching For-

Warm Eye Shadow Palette

When I first moved to clean beauty, I knew I wanted to get an eyeshadow palette versus just buying one shade so I would have options. This is the exact eyeshadow palette I got, and I’m so glad! The shadows are warm, buttery and blend so well.

Clean Liquid Eyeliner

This eyeliner has become a staple in my makeup bag. It gives the perfect cat eye and doesn’t smudge.

Air Brow Eyebrow Gel

My absolute favorite eyebrow gel! This holds the brows in place and is the perfect gel to use to brush them upwards (which I’m now obsessed with doing).

Foundation and Concealer Stick

I’m featuring this foundation stick on an upcoming YouTube video (subscribe so you don’t miss it!), after Merit reached out asking if I’d like to try it. Well, I tried it and fell in love! Mainly, because it is SUPER easy to use. I guess I’ve been used to using only liquid foundations. While I still love liquid foundation, this is my favorite grab-and-go foundation. (I’m using the shade Dune.) I recommend using it with their brush. It works so well!

Medium Coverage Serum Foundation

Now, if we’re talking liquid foundation, this is my first love! It’s on the lighter side, so I love that you can still see your skin and freckles with it. It is buildable though, so you can add more for more coverage. (I use the shade Texel.) I love applying this with this sponge.

Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

This is my go-to for tinted moisturizer when I’m traveling or going to be outside. It’s pretty sticky, so instead of using my fingers to apply, I like to use this sponge. (I use the shade Bom Bom.) I follow it up with a finishing powder because it’s THAT glowy when you apply it.

Lip Oil

This is one of my favorite lip glosses! It’s super glossy and shiny and perfect to have in your bag for a date night.

Finishing Powder

This is my go-to setting powder after I’m done with my makeup. I use this with both the foundation and tinter moisturizer to set everything.

Creamy Concealer

Kosas really killed it with this creamy concealer! It works so well to cover undereye dark circles and any hyperpigmentation on the face. (I use shade 4.5 with light pink undertones.) I also use the BB sponge to blot this out.

Vegan Tool + Brush Faves:

-Tools I regularly use-

Facial Massager

I got this little facial massager years ago and am still using it today! I love facial massage to help with lymphatic drainage and to depuff the skin. I use this in the shower after I apply cleanser for a deep cleanse and to tighten the skin.

Microderm Set

I also started using this a few years ago to help with deep exfoliation sessions. I use this about 1-2x per month. It really helps with buffing away any dead skin.

LED Lightmask

I’ve been using this mask on a nightly basis (when I’m at home in Florida) to help with hyperpigmentation. I’m kind of fascinated with it (and just a warning- it looks super weird, but your family or bae will get used to it) and have committed to using it every night. I haven’t noticed major changes with it, but they say that it takes time. The reviews are what got me for this thing-lots of people love this for dark spots.

Vegan Hairbrush

I treated myself to a nice hairbrush last year after having a conversation with my hair stylist (Katee at Lucky Cat Salon if you’re in DeLand, FL- she’s so good!) about daily care and maintenance of hair and scalp. I realized from that convo I don’t brush my hair much, so I decided to get this brush. It’s vegan (vs brushes with boar bristles) and it’s perfect for pre-bedtime brushing.

Luxury Powder Brush

Hourglass brushes are INCREDIBLE. I’ve had this one for years and it’s the best brush I’ve ever owned. They’re pricey but so worth it if you want a brush that lasts.

The Rolls Royce of Hairdryers

I first tried this hair dryer when I was in Seoul (the hotel had it in-room!). After one time of using it, I noticed how much fewer flyaways I had from drying with it versus any other dryer. My hair was just so much smoother. So I ended up getting this and a round brush and that’s how I dry my hair now.

The OG Makeup Sponge

Still a favorite after so many years, this makeup sponge just works the best. I use it with foundation, tinted moisturizer, and even to dab on cream highlighter and blush.

The Microneedling Tool

After listening to a podcast about microneedling, I was super intrigued. Being a skincare tool lover, I wanted to see if microneedling would actually help skincare products seep into the skin better. I can verify after using this 1-2x a week for the last year, that it definitely opens your skin up. I’ll keep this tool in my rotation weekly.

The Makeup Sponge Travel Case

If you travel and use the Beauty Blender, you need this case! I was wrapping the BB in tissues and storing it in my makeup bag for years and it always kind of grossed me out. This little holder allows it to get air while still protecting it from touching other stuff in your makeup bag.

New things I’ll be buying during the Sephora Sale:

-Products I’m going to try-

Setting Spray

I still haven’t landed on a clean setting spray that I love yet, so I’ll def be using the sale to try out Ilia’s version.

Finishing Brush

I know I already said this but Hourglass brushes are the absolute best. I’m going to use the sale as a chance to get a nicer finishing powder brush for my brush set.

Clean Lipliner

I haven’t found too many clean lipliners that I love yet, so I’m excited to see how this Tower 28 liner works!

Bronzer Stick

Since I’ve fallen for Merit’s complexion stick, I’m super curious to try their bronzer balm. I’m feeling like it’s going to be the same vibe of quick, easy, and effective.

Makeup Travel Case

It’s been a minute since I’ve updated my travel makeup and this bag looks like the perfect one to upgrade with. I definitely am liking all the compartments it has going on.

Tinted SPF

As you can tell from the products above, I’m an Ilia fangirl. I’m definitely super curious to try their new C Beyond Tinted Serum.

Hair Vitamins

This one won’t be a new purchase- but more of a restock! I’ve been using the Moon Juice SuperHair vitamins for months now as my daily multi-vitamin and loving them! I’m going to use the sale as an opportunity to restock them.

Lip Balm

This will be another new product to try from Tower 28. I’m always on the hunt for a great clean balm.

Perfect Nude Lipstick

Another lip product I’ve been on the hunt for since moving to clean beauty is the perfect nude lipstick. I’m excited to try Merit’s and see if it will live up to the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk lipstick I used to love.
