Yes this recipe is made up of watermelon and peanut butter. I know that seems like a strange combination, but it’s delicious. I devised this combo one night when craving ice cream. Instead of blending up frozen banana and cacao, I reached for the melon and peanut butter. The results are so tasty, I would go as far as to say it’s a lighter, better version of ice cream!
It’s also a bomb recipe to make in the summertime when watermelons are in season. Get a melon, chop it up, freeze it, and you’ll be ready for frosty watermelon drinks whenever you feel like it. If an ice cream craving hits, you can whip up a batch of this frosty goodness.
I used powdered peanut butter for this recipe but feel free to swap in regular PB. You can decrease the amount of PB by half. Feel free to also try this smoothie with almond or cashew butter. And if you’re allergic to nuts, you can try this with sunflower seed butter. Enjoy!
Here’s another awesome way to use up that frozen watermelon if you’re feeling a little spicy.
- 2 cups frozen watermelon
- ¼ cup powdered peanut butter or 2 tbsp peanut butter
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- a few drops stevia or coconut nectar to sweeten
- dash of salt if PB is unsalted
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.
- Blend until completely combined.
- Serve immediately.
That is such a creative combo! Love it!
Thanks!!!
interesting combo!

A surprisingly tasty combo!
How about cantalope, watermelon, peanut butter, coconut water and some ground flax seed. This is a very healthy and delicious smoothie. Add a little honey if you want it a little sweeter. Great for Diabetics or people wanting to reduce their sugar intake.
