I always feel fantastic after eating greens in my smoothies. I’m not sure if it’s the hit of nutrients from the greens or the instant hydration, but if you can add them to your mid-day smoothie, do it!
This bowl is unique in that it does not taste green whatsoever. The chocolate and cherries are a great mix of sweet goodness and almost taste like ice cream (except way better).
If you’re new to green smoothies, start with spinach. The flavor is more mild than kale and you won’t even notice it in your drink.
- 1 1/2 cups ice
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cashew milk (or unsweetened almond milk)
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- a few drops liquid stevia to taste (optional)
- Toppings: blueberries, kiwi, mulberries, brown rice cereal, almond butter (get creative!)
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend until fully mixed.
