This version of a pumpkin spice smoothie incorporates turmeric, a bright yellow spice that contains the powerful curcumin compound. Curcumin has numerous health benefits including decreasing inflammation, reducing oxidative damage, and improving brain function.

Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Smoothie

Serves: 1 smoothie
A healthy fall-inspired smoothie packing the punch of powerful turmeric.
Ingredients
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
  • ½ cup ice
  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbsp gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp almond butter (or other nut butter)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp vanilla bean powder (or vanilla extract)
  • a few drops liquid stevia (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend until completely combined.
Notes
You can also sweeten this smoothie with 1-2 dates or a few teaspoons of maple syrup instead of liquid stevia.
